I always have a stack of books by my bed ready to court me into the night. Even though I have read more books than I can recall, each book that has graced my nightstand has sparked a remembrance and has drawn me deeper into my soul. I am filled with gratitude to the authors who have had the courage to share their stories, insights and wisdom with me. I have picked the top ten that did their best to release me from the twisted sheets of slumber and guide me into My Soul Slippers. My Top Ten Favorite Soul-Full Books (in alphabetical order) 1. 2012 Awakenings, by Sri and Kira Raa This is only one of the many books and the latest
that I have read by Sri and Kira. Their
work has had a profound impact on me. I
had the privileged of attending their Avesa training and it further opened me
to the power of my soul. They live what
they preach and their message is filled with love, peace and joy. They have
dedicated their lives to spreading this message of empowerment. 2. Ask and it is Given, by Abraham Hicks I was in a bookstore many years ago in Seattle
waiting for my flight home when this book fell off the shelf and into my
life. I couldn’t put it down, the more
I read, the more I loved it! Yes! Yes! Yes!
I would say as each word filled my being with joy. I was so delighted
with their message I bought a copy for my mother, who I knew would love it as
much as I did. 3. Eat, Pray, Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert I doubt if there is a woman out there who has not read this book. Her message is one of soul empowerment and following your heart. Her story inspired me to continue to follow my heart, even though my heart leads me down paths not often tread by the mere mortal aka the standards of society. 4. Practicing the Presence of God, by Brother Lawrence This book breathed new life into my soul. It brought God out of my religious box from
9- 12 on Sunday and into my every moment. 5. Something More, By Sarah Ban Breathnach A book filled with soul-full adventures, insights and beautiful quotes from a woman who stepped into her Soul Slippers and became the heroine of her own life. This book stirred my dreams and pushed past the curtains of darkness that kept me in a deep soul slumber and allowed me to start believing in the power of me…the power of my soul. 6. Soul Prints, by Marc Gafni Marc Gafni’s stories have stayed with me and have
mentored me along my journey into My Soul Slippers. He is a master storyteller and has revealed
the wisdom of the ages within the pages of his book. 7. Spiritual Liberation, by Michael Bernard Beckwith Michael Bernard Beckwith is on fire! He is a man whose soul shines forth in all
he does. There is a CD that accompanies
this book that never fails to ignite my soul and bring me home to the heart of
who I am when I have temporarily fallen asleep. 8. The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz The wisdom of these four simple agreements saved me
from a lot of self-inflicted torment.
The 2nd agreement alone has the power to change lives,
because I know it did mine! “Don’t take things personal”. It allowed me to give others the space and
grace to be themselves and step into My Soul Slippers and out of the “dream of
hell.” 9. The Greatest Secret in the World, by Og Mandino This was the first “self-improvement book that I ever read. I read it as a young adult and it began my journey into My Soul Slippers. It gave me the understanding that I was the creator of my reality. That it was up to me to change the things in my life that were not working. I love this book and the wisdom that it holds. In fact I created videos on Youtube using the scrolls in this book. 10. Ye Are Gods, by Annalee Skarin This book blew my mind and all the limiting thoughts that held me captive. It allowed me to see the power of the soul and the co-creative power that God has instilled in each one of us. It truly was a catalyst in my life and allowed me to see that my feet were shod with glory and that God was calling me to take on His glory and abide in Him and He would abide in me. |
